Clearer File Errors & Better Reading Assistant Retrieval

Clearer File Errors & Better Reading Assistant Retrieval

When a Mendeley, Zotero, Google Drive, or Notes file can't load in your chat, you'll now see a clear notification pointing to the exact source to reconnect. Reading Assistant also pulls more relevant passages from uploaded papers thanks to smarter document structure handling.

Improvements

  • Toast notification appears when an attached file fails to load in a chat
  • Error messages now name the correct source (Mendeley, Zotero, Google Drive, or Notes) instead of always pointing to Google Drive
  • Reading Assistant retrieves more relevant passages from uploaded papers by respecting document structure — sections, lists, tables, and citations stay intact

Reliable Research Kick Subscription Migration

Reliable Research Kick Subscription Migration

Customers migrating from Research Kick to ChatAcademia now have their previous subscription reliably cancelled — no more double-billing or getting stuck on the migration page after paying.

Improvements

  • Research Kick subscriptions are now cancelled directly when your ChatAcademia checkout is completed, instead of relying on an indirect sync path
  • Migration flow now self-heals — if you completed payment but landed back on the migration page, it detects your active subscription and clears the stale state automatically
  • Cancellation is now idempotent and race-safe, so transient errors no longer leave your old subscription active

Memory, Onboarding & Agent Personalization

Memory, Onboarding & Agent Personalization

Your workspace now has a dedicated Memory page, a redesigned onboarding with a new Agent Profile step, and smarter agents that remember who you are from your very first conversation.

Improvements

  • New Memory page with Manage, Search, and Add tabs for full control over your agent's knowledge
  • Memory dashboard with stats cards (total memories, sources, entities, facts) and a growth chart with 7d/30d/90d view
  • Bulk operations — select multiple sources with checkboxes and delete them all at once
  • Upload files (PDF, Word, Excel, images, audio, and more) with drag & drop — your agent extracts and remembers the key information
  • Semantic search lets you ask questions in your own words to find relevant memories
  • Redesigned onboarding with a new Agent Profile step — set your research focus, response style, custom instructions, and upload files so your agent knows you from day one
  • Existing users are guided through the new Agent Profile step with all previous answers pre-filled
  • Agents now recall your onboarding profile at the start of every conversation for personalized responses
  • Fixed memory dashboard total count to accurately match the sum of per-source memory counts
